Frequently asked questions

Answers about booking, check-in, cancellations, payments and pet-friendly stays.

How do I book an accommodation?
Domrentals is a listings portal: we do not handle bookings. Search for a destination on the homepage, open the property page you like and contact the host directly via the details shown (email, phone, WhatsApp). Booking and payment are between you and the host, with no intermediary.
How do check-in and check-out work?
Times and arrangements (key handover, keypad code, meeting the host) are agreed directly with the host when you book. Typically check-in is in the afternoon and check-out in the morning; the host will send you the details once your stay is confirmed.
Can I cancel or change my booking?
Bookings are agreed directly with the host. For changes or cancellations, contact the host you booked with; conditions and any fees depend on what you agreed with them.
What payment methods are accepted?
Payment is made directly with the host, not through Domrentals. Accepted methods (bank transfer, card, cash, etc.) are decided by the host and should be agreed when you book.
Where do I get key or access instructions?
Access instructions (key handover, keypad code, etc.) are provided by the host after you confirm your booking with them, usually before your arrival date.
Are pets allowed?
Whether pets are allowed is stated on each property’s page. Filter for “pet-friendly” or check the description; if in doubt, contact the host directly before booking.
How much does it cost to rent an apartment in Bologna?
The cost of an apartment or B&B in Bologna depends on area, season and number of guests. Prices are higher in the historic centre; on the outskirts or near the station you can find cheaper short-term rentals. On Domrentals you search by destination and contact the host directly for prices and availability, with no platform fees.
How to find a cheap B&B in Venice?
To find an affordable B&B or apartment in Venice, look in less touristy areas (Cannaregio, Castello) or on the islands (Murano, Lido). Avoid peak season and weekends; booking in advance helps. On Domrentals you can filter by Venice and compare listings; direct contact with the host often leads to lower rates than on commission-based portals.
What is the difference between a holiday home and a B&B?
A holiday home is a self-contained accommodation (apartment, villa) you rent in full, often with no extra services. A B&B (bed and breakfast) offers overnight stay and breakfast, sometimes with rooms in the owner’s home. On Domrentals you’ll find both apartments and holiday homes and B&Bs: each listing states the type and what’s included.
How do I book a holiday apartment in Italy?
On Domrentals you search by destination (Bologna, Venice, Florence, Ostuni, etc.), browse apartment and holiday home listings and contact the host directly by email, phone or WhatsApp. Booking and payment are between you and the host, with no intermediary. Check availability and terms before confirming.
What are the best areas to stay in Florence?
In Florence the most popular areas for apartments and B&Bs are the historic centre (Duomo, Santa Croce, Oltrarno) if you want everything on foot. San Niccolò and Oltrarno are quieter. For lower prices, look at areas just outside the centre with good transport links. On Domrentals you’ll find holiday homes and B&Bs in Florence with descriptions and location.
Short-term rentals: what to know before booking?
For short-term rentals (stays of a few days or weeks) always check: availability for your dates, total price, check-in and check-out arrangements, any extra costs (cleaning, tourist tax). Contact the host to clarify and agree payment and conditions. Domrentals is a listings portal: booking is direct with the owner.
Where to find holiday homes by the sea in Puglia?
In Puglia you’ll find holiday homes and masserie mainly in Salento (Ostuni, Otranto, Gallipoli, Santa Maria di Leuca) and along the coast. On Domrentals we have listings in Ostuni and Salento: search “Ostuni” in the destinations section to see apartments and masserie you can book directly with the host.
Apartment or B&B in Bologna centre: which is better?
An apartment in Bologna centre gives you independence and space (kitchen, living room); ideal for families or longer stays. A B&B in Bologna centre includes breakfast and often tips on restaurants and things to do. The choice depends on budget and preference: on Domrentals you’ll find both with descriptions and direct contact.
How long does a typical short-term rental last?
Short-term rentals can be a few days (weekend), one week or several weeks. Minimum and maximum length depend on the property and local rules. On Domrentals each listing shows capacity (guests, rooms) and how to contact; the host will confirm availability and possible length of stay for your dates.
Can I book an apartment for one night only?
It depends on the property: many apartments and B&Bs have a minimum stay of 2–3 nights, especially in peak season. Others accept a single night. Check the listing and contact the host to ask about availability and minimum nights for your dates.
Holiday homes and B&Bs in Venice: how to choose?
In Venice apartments and holiday homes give you more space and privacy, often with a kitchen; B&Bs offer breakfast and contact with the host. Consider location (historic centre, islands, mainland) and stairs, which are common in Venetian buildings. On Domrentals you filter by Venice and compare; contact is direct with the owner for questions and bookings.
